Does The House Remember Us?
On nights when my mind is racing
I close my eyes
Breathe deeply
And imagine I’m back at home
My old home
Our old house
On nights when my mind is racing
I pretend you’re asleep in the next room
I find that thought so comforting
The thought of you there
We are safe
We are together
On nights when my mind is racing
I can’t stop wondering
Who now sleeps in your bed?
Who now lives in that house we once called home?
Are they happy?
On nights when my mind is racing
I wonder
I wonder
I wonder
Is it full of life?
Does the house remember us?
