OFFICE
Final Year
2020
Our degree show was cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
This project is the accumulation of work which follows my grief journey. It focuses on my late fathers office in our old family home.
If our exhibition had gone ahead my plan was to build an instillation of my fathers office. On the exterior of the installation I would have included my poetry about grief and photographs of the model (pictured.)
BEYOND THE BOUNDARY
2019
Second Year Exhibition
2019
A project which focuses around my Father and his Cricket team of Cherry Burton. This Cricket team and its Pavilion stay very close to my heart. This is due to the sudden death of my father on his way to practice in May 2017. This project was an exploration of my memories and the strong feeling of grief I had not found a way to deal with. It turned into a legacy project, of my father and also the memory of the old pavilion due to its recent renovation. The real pavilion was being renovated, so I obtained permission from the builders to take what they were replacing. With this, I rebuilt a section of the pavilion for the exhibition and inside filled it with some of my Dad’s cricket belongings. This was a very positive and healing project and I am very proud to have shared my work with the public.
HOUSE NOT HOME
2018
These are a series of photographs I took in my old home. Here it had been left empty for a year, I feel that the cool and dark colours of the light help elevate the feeling of loss that I feel towards this house. So many memories, so many happy times. The house is surrounded by loss I think these photographs evoke both positive and negative energy. The world can be selfish, but it is though our individual resilience we find a way to keep moving forward.
